Logistics/Materials Planner at Grupos Antolin Illinois (posted here on 12/08/09)
Responsibilities:
• Review ASN’s with releases to confirm the required materials are in transit.
• Track and verify physical inventory of critical inventory on a daily basis
• Account for and track damaged and lost materials on a timely basis for Controller
• Update all inventory information into SAP
• Provide support to Quality for solutions to any quality issues
• Provide Controller with information for billing and payments to Suppliers
• Expedite and de-expedite inventory as needed to maintain the optimal inventory levels.
• Maintain a daily control on inventory needed from Suppliers to ensure that it is delivered on schedule to facilitate inventory needed for daily production.
• Analyze statistics to maintain and improve future shipping and receiving capabilities
• Oversee finished goods inventory for proper tracking, accuracy and timeliness and proper entry into SAP
• Track overages/shortages/damages to recover costs and prevent recurrent incidents including communicating with accounting to debit the supplier
• Send NC tickets to suppliers for service failures
• Track and control all returnable packaging here, in transit and at the suppliers facility
• Track shipments to assure a timely delivery of product in the quantities required and send corrective action requests to suppliers.
• Evaluate all Purchase Orders to ensure that the most economical quantities are procured and delivered on schedule for production
• Monitor production rates and current inventory levels to ensure that there are enough materials to meet daily production demands and make adjustments as needed.
• Utilize proper import and export documentation for returnable packaging.
• Help perform daily cycle counting activities.
• Help perform physical inventory as needed
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
• College Degree or equivalent experience in the Automotive Sector
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• At least 5 years previous experience in one of more of the following disciplines:
o Warehouse Management
o Materials Management
o Logistics
o Supply Chain Management
• Understanding of Problem Resolution; Quality Management; Inventory Management, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP
• Experience with SAP desirable
• Must possess the capability to communicate politely and effectively both orally and with the written word.
• Must be a Team Player and be flexible and have the ability to cross train in other Material/Logistic areas as necessary.
• Must have an average command of the Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have the ability to interact professionally and positively with all levels of management both within our company and vendor companies
• Must be detail oriented
• Must be accurate with Mathematics
• Must be flexible, have a positive attitude, and be able to multi-task
• Must be available at all times including outside of normal business hours
